What Is Your Exercise Goal?

I love this quote! How many times have you said to yourself and others that you do not have time? Time was always an excuse of mine. We are all busy right! Who has an extra 30-60 minutes a day when there already is not enough time in the day?

That my friend is the mindset that you need to change first! If you are unhappy with the way you are right now in your health, weight and body style then you need to make the commitment to change. How? Make time!

Look at your day. Do you get up just to get ready for work? Work all day? Have to run kids around in the afternoon/evenings? Meetings? To tired after work? Look at your day and figure out when you are going to take time for you! I decided I was going to start getting up a half hour earlier and commit that time to practicing yoga. I was feeling so great after I made that commitment and started loosing weight, than before I knew it, I was getting up an hour earlier! Now here I am today getting up two hours earlier than I used to! It will not be easy at first but it will be so worth it!

Now that you have set a plan for when you are going to exercise, you need to now set a goal. What do you want to accomplish with this new exercise routine?

 

*Weight Loss
*Build Muscle
*Energy

*Better mind, body and soul balance

Don’t set your goal so high that it is difficult to reach. It’s okay to have that big goal but set up some stepping stone goals along the way so you will feel the success of reaching those goals. Again I am going to use the word commit. It takes commitment to yourself and the routine to reach your goals!

Types of exercise. What do you want to do. Not everyone enjoys cardio but you do need to incorporate it at least once or twice a week. Now cardio can be a nice walk out in the beautiful world that surrounds us, a hike, bike ride, on your treadmill or videos. Do you want to build muscle? You can start that at home to or you can choose to go to the gym. I honestly prefer to do this at home. Granted I do not have all of the equipment but I do have enough to sustain me.

What videos? I am picky with my yoga but I do have a video that I love by Gaiam Core Power Yoga called Calorie Blast Yoga. I found it on Amazon! Then I use several programs from Beach Body On Demand. No I am not affiliated with Beach Body at all but you can not beat the on demand price of $99 a year and have access to so many different exercise programs! Absolutely love Beach Body on Demand! Currently I am doing 80 Day Obsession and Body Beast along with yoga.

 

Now that I have set you up with a few first steps to reaching your exercise goals, I want to leave you with this quote:
